Peak season: December to April

This is Cayman at its most reliable, warm, dry, low humidity and calm seas, ideal for diving, beaches and events (the Cayman Cookout lands in January). It is also the busiest and priciest stretch, with resorts and flights at a premium, so book well ahead. If you want guaranteed good weather and don't mind the cost and crowds, this is the window.

Shoulder & low season: May to November

The quieter months bring lower rates, fewer crowds and warmer water, with the trade-off of higher humidity and a greater chance of short afternoon showers. This stretch overlaps the Atlantic hurricane season (June to November), direct hits are uncommon, but it's worth watching forecasts and considering travel insurance. For value and space, it's an excellent time to go.

Flexible on dates? The shoulder season (May, November) gives you warm water and big savings, just keep an eye on the forecast during hurricane season.

How to choose your dates

Go peak (Dec, Apr) for the most reliable weather and the big events; go shoulder (May, Nov) for value and quiet. Divers do well year-round thanks to warm, clear water. If a specific festival is the draw, build your dates around it and book early, and whenever you go, the sea will be warm.
